Group exercise class can vary significantly in almost all areas. They can be high intensity or low intensity, they can be serious or can be fun and they can be more social or less social. The one thing that they all have in common is bringing together individuals who want to engage in a motivating and rewarding exercise experience.

 

What are the benefits of group exercise class?

  1. Its social! The number one reason for attending a group exercise session is that it is a great way to get out and socialise with likeminded people.
  2. It’s a great way to begin with exercise. If you’re new to fitness and would like to learn how to exercise safely , then engaging in group exercise is a great way to learn the basics and establish correct form from an exercise professional.
  3. Motivation. You’ll be motivated to attend your exercise session by the other members of the group. Group training is paired with upbeat music, and other individuals who are looking to get the best out of their day.
  4. Establishes accountability. You’re much more likely to attend your group exercise session if you’re giving a friend a lift or meeting for coffee afterwards.
  5. Takes the stress away from planning a workout. Your group exercise facilitator will do all the planning and work for you. It guarantees a great workout and all you have to do is show up.
  6.  Adds variety to your fitness routine. Group exercise can provide new exercises and training regimes to keep exercise interesting and engaging.

Where can I find a local group exercise

I’m glad you asked! At Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy we offer three different group classes.

Strength and Balance Classes: These classes are aimed for seniors who are looking to improve general health, strength and balance. They run Monday to Friday from 9am to 10am.

Active Teen Classes: These classes are aimed for adolescents aged 12-18 who are looking to improve their performance in sport, injury recovery or general health. They run Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 5pm and from 5pm to 6pm.

Stretch Class: This class is are aimed for people of all ages who is looking to improve their flexibility and mobility. They run on Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm.
