Powerlifting Strength and Technique Class

Weight Lifting Classes

Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy is excited to offer our Strength and Technique class, a powerlifting-focused session that expands the limits of your physical strength and mental endurance. Held every Thursday or Saturday over an 8-week block, our weight lifting classes are structured to help you explore and unlock your full potential by mastering three fundamental powerlifting movements: squats, bench press, and deadlifts. These exercises not only boost your strength, but they are also essential for everyday activities, making this class a well-rounded means to fitness and wellness.

The cost for the class is $320 for an 8-week program, and it provides enormous value through structured programming, expert guidance, and a supportive environment. Our weight training classes limit the number of attendees to ensure you receive personalized one-on-one time with our certified exercise physiologist, guaranteeing a solid foundation, injury prevention, and technique refinement.

Weight Lifting Classes with Expert Guidance

Our Strength and Technique weightlifting classes are led by an experienced exercise physiologist who will guide you through the process of learning and perfecting the three key lifts: squats, bench press, and deadlifts. More than just a workout, this class offers expert knowledge, support, and coaching to ensure that you develop proper biomechanics. With a focus on powerlifting fundamentals, the program not only helps you build strength but also cultivates mental fortitude, smarter training habits, and a healthier outlook on fitness.

The program is divided into three distinct phases: acclimation, intensification, and peaking. Each phase serves as a stepping stone toward testing your true strength, offering you challenges to overcome and skills to master. Whether you are new to powerlifting or experienced in strength training, our weightlifting classes will adapt to your level, guiding you through the progression with precision and care.

Phased Programming Weight Lifting Classes

Our weight training classes follow a comprehensive structure that ensures continuous progress and peak performance. The three phases include:

– Block 1: Building Phase (3 weeks): This introductory phase focuses on learning and adaptation. You’ll work with high volume and low intensity, focusing on tempo movements such as slow eccentric and pauses, giving your muscles time to adjust to the new demands.

– Block 2: Intensification Phase (3 weeks): During this phase, intensity increases, and volume decreases as you begin to test the foundation built in Block 1. You’ll still incorporate tempo work while pushing your limits and refining technique.

– Block 3: Peaking Phase (2 weeks): In the final phase of our weight lifting classes, the focus is on expressing maximal strength. With low volume but high intensity, this phase prepares you for the ultimate test of the strength and technique developed over the previous weeks.

Why Powerlifting to improve your Strength and Technique?

Powerlifting is a sport designed to test your maximal strength in three core lifts: squats, bench press, and deadlifts. It requires not only physical power but also mental resilience and focus. People engage in powerlifting to build physical resilience, improve bone density, increase muscular strength, and enhance posture and core control. Moreover, powerlifting fosters discipline and teaches you the biomechanics of your body.

While powerlifting, like any physical activity, comes with inherent risks, our class ensures a safe environment by emphasizing proper technique, progressive overload, and supervised training. Warm-ups, cool-downs, and lifestyle factors such as nutrition, hydration, and rest are also incorporated to mitigate risks and promote safe and effective progress.
