Bone Builders

Bone Builders Program

8-week Program Pass for $320

Bone health often declines quietly, until it shows up as a fracture, persistent pain or injury cycle, or a loss of confidence with everyday movement. Conditions like osteopenia and osteoporosis can develop gradually, but their impact on independence and quality of life can be significant. The encouraging news is that bone is living tissue and it can respond to the right kind of stimulus.

Our 8-week Bone Builders program is designed to do exactly that. We use targeted, evidence-based exercise to help maintain or improve bone density, build strength, and reduce your risk of fractures, so you can keep doing the things you love with confidence.

Why Bone Health Matters

As we age, bone density naturally declines. It begins slowly in our 30s, with accelerated loss occurring in women from their mid to late 40s and in men from their late 50s. However, low bone density doesn’t just affect older adults—it can impact anyone with risk factors such as previous fractures, inactivity, or underlying health conditions.

Reduced bone density increases the risk of:

  • Fragility fractures from minor falls or everyday activities
  • Ongoing pain and injury cycles
  • Reduced mobility and independence
  • Loss of confidence in movement

Importantly, research shows that targeted exercise interventions can reduce fracture risk by up to 30–50%, making proactive management of bone health one of the most powerful things you can do for long-term wellbeing.

How Exercise Builds Bone

Bones adapt to the loads we place on them. When you perform weight-bearing and resistance exercises, your muscles pull on the bone, stimulating it to maintain or increase its strength. But not all exercise is created equal when it comes to bone health. To effectively stimulate bone growth, evidence supports:

  • High-intensity resistance training (lifting weights at appropriate loads)
  • Bone loading or impact-loading exercises (such as controlled jumping, stomping, or landing tasks)
  • Progressive overload (gradually increasing resistance over time)

These types of training are key to slowing bone loss and even improving bone density. Just as importantly, they must be delivered in a way that is safe, structured, and tailored to the individual’s needs, especially in people who have already been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis.

Pivotal Motion’s specialised Bone Builders Program

Our Bone Builders Program is highly-specialised, structured, and evidence-based. It’s designed to improve bone health as well as overall strength, confidence, and function.

This program is ideal for:

  • Individuals diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis
  • Women during or after menopause
  • Men with a history of fractures or high re-injury risk
  • Anyone with a family history of osteoporosis or fragility fractures (research shows that if you have a parent or close family member with osteoporosis, your risk is higher!)
  • Anyone looking to build confidence with everyday tasks like lifting, carrying, and staying active as part of healthy aging

The weekly sessions focus on:

  • High-intensity resistance training to build muscle and stimulate bone
  • Impact-loading exercises using clinically supported thresholds
  • Ongoing technique correction
  • Safe progression to suit your unique needs and goals

Our Exercise Physiologist will educate and empower you to support your bone health beyond the clinic. In addition to understanding bone health fundamentals, you’ll learn safe movement and posture strategies, injury prevention techniques, and how to progress and adapt your training independently in future.

Our experienced team will also continually reassess your progress so we can track your improvements (and celebrate your wins!), adapt your program as needed, accommodate any pre-existing injuries, and keep you motivated and accountable. Our small-group format allows for close supervision and tailored progression.

By the end of the program, many participants notice:

  • Increased strength and physical capacity
  • Improved posture and balance
  • Greater ease with daily activities
  • Reduced fear of falls or injury

Bone health doesn’t have to be left to chance. With the right training, guidance, and support, you can build stronger bones, reduce your risk of injury, and maintain your independence for years to come.

Bone Builders specifically focuses on bone-loading exercise and progressive resistance, which are key to improving bone density - not just general fitness or balance.

Moving through Menopause offers a holistic approach to help manage the physiological shifts that occur during perimenopause and menopause, with a focus on strength training for bone health, metabolic changes, muscle mass maintenance (sarcopenia), and cardiovascular health. If your primary concern is a bone density scan result, Bone Builders is your specialist track.

Small class sizes means you can move at your own pace, with plenty of 1:1 support tailored to your specific needs and goals. If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled classes, speak with your EP or a member of our friendly admin team to see if we can schedule a make up lesson (subject to availability).
